I can't believe how natural and perfect my new brows look!
I had microblading done by Ashley today and could not be happier with the results. I was really nervous and she made me feel very comfortable and did such a beautiful job. After over plucking my eyebrows for years they stopped growing and just looked patchy and needed to be colored in every day. I can’t believe how natural and perfect my new brows look! 5 stars for this chick, she did such an amazing job!

It shows itself through their work. I am so pleased with my results and the fact that they’re so natural looking! Years of over-plucking left me with very sparse brows. Now, not only are my brows finally full again, but Ashley has saved me so much time having to pencil in my eyebrows before leaving the house. She has a customer in me, for life. Thank you Blink Beauty Bar!!
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Microblading is an advanced manual brow technique that uses a superfine row of needles to deposit cosmetic pigments into the upper dermis of the skin to create thin, hair-like strokes.
The most common type of traditional eyebrow tattoos involves the use of a tattoo gun and a block style brow, which leaves the client with a dark outlined eyebrow, no dimension, and the color tends to fade blue or red. Microblading by Ashley Schuh at Blink leaves the client with crisp, thin lines that blend seamlessly with your REAL HAIR. Microblading can be a subtle, natural enhancement to create the illusion of fuller brows or we can create a brow from scratch and make it look very realistic. Microblading is a perfect solution for those who want to fully reconstruct, define, cover holes or fill-in over plucked brows. When Microblading we use is of the highest quality, we use cruelty-free/vegan pigments as well as disposable sterile Microblading needles.
-
Our Microblading/Cosmetic Tattoo Pigments are safe to use and are formulated to slowly fade over time. The pigments we use in Microblading do not contain organic material (i.e. vegetables) as these have a higher risk of causing allergic reactions. We use only the highest quality of FDA approved ingredients as well as disposable sterile needles. Our pigments are 100% vegan/cruelty-free and safe for MRI!

Excessive bleeding during your procedure will greatly affect how your body retains pigment. While this is not entirely in our control, it is important that you follow prep instructions to help minimize bleeding. This includes avoiding blood-thinning medications and alcohol before your procedure. When getting Microblading
· Oily Skin: Increased oil production can cause hair strokes to blur and heal lighter and more powdery than you would expect. Loss of color will be more prominent and touch-ups are needed more frequently. We recommend the Powder Brow if you are extremely oily, it will last longer and look better.
· Smoking: Smokers may notice that their tattoo will fade faster
· Anemia and iron deficiency: Your body will absorb these iron based pigments more quickly.
· Sun exposure: Increased exposure to the sun will cause premature fading.
· Color of pigment: Lighter colors fade faster than darker colors.

An effective topical anesthetic is used to maximize your comfort during the cosmetic procedure, however pain tolerance varies from client to client. Receiving the procedure during your menstrual cycle may increase your sensitivity. On a scale of 1-10, most clients experience 2-3. Most clients describe the pain level as minimal and find tweezing and threading more uncomfortable in comparison to Microblading.

Microblading heals best on normal to dry skin types. Microblading may not work well on clients with more oily skin types, large pores. On those with oily skin types and larger pores, results may appear softer and more powdery. However, we will suggest a different technique for those who do have more oily skin and results will be just as stunning.
Clients with super thin skin, Rosacea, or Keloids cannot receive Microblading. Powder technique is sometimes suggested as an alternative method on a case by case basis.

While not required, consultations are free of charge and offered to anyone who would like to discuss their tattoo before booking an appointment.
-
The initial session takes approximately 1.5-2 hours from the moment you walk in, to completion. follow-up perfecting session takes approximately 1.5 -2 hrs. This is done normally within 4-6 weeks.
-
Absolutely! The technique Ashley uses ensures the most realistic, simulated hair strokes that look just like REAL HAIR! It’s important you choose the right artist that can give you this realistic 3D/6D look. Your brows can be as big and bold or as soft and subtle as you like!
-
Yes this does happen. Some people have highly effective immune systems that reject the pigment, and some just have highly effective skin healing. It’s very rare, but it’s important that all clients understand this is a possibility and in most cases there is no way for us to know if this will take place prior to the work being done. Occasionally, we will recommend a third appointment for further touch-up using a different technique called shading/ombre effect at additional cost. If the client were still retaining very little pigment after the third appointment, we would not recommend another touch-up, as it might be too much for the skin.

Prices change based on Location. But a good artist in a smaller city shouldn’t accept less than $400.00. DO NOT go for the better price, I have had so many clients come to me with Microblading horror stories, some of which can not be fixed. You will end up spending more money trying to fix something and still not being happy. Sometimes because of the inexperience of the Microblading Artist, they go too deep which can lead to a more permanent mistake.
-
Microblading can last anywhere from 6 to 18 months depending on your skin type and lifestyle. Microblading tends to last longer on older woman. If you have oily skin you will need touch ups usually within 6 months unless you decide to go with the powder brow.
-
Microblading is an Art. I tell all my trainees, that if you think you can come out of a 2 day class and be a pro, its not the way it works. It takes months of practice before anyone should even be allowed to work on a client. The longer you have been Microblading, the better you are. You will have worked on all different skin types, you know the best needles to use because you have personally seen the finished product. The Best Microblading Artist will be someone with years of experience and usually has a background in Art.
-
When Microblading you aren’t not going as deep into the skin as a traditional tattoo. You are also using specially formulated pigments that fade over time. When Microblading you are using a tiny disposable blade made up of tiny little needles. You manually are depositing pigment and makes strokes. When tattooing, you’re using a machine?
-
It is not recommended to get Microblading while pregnant. Hormone levels can alter how fast you heal as well as the color of your skin. When pregnant, your Estrogen levels are higher which can cause you to bleed more. Bleeding while Microblading will dilute the pigment and you will most likely have to have the process done all over again. Some numbing agents aren’t safe to use while pregnant and some pigments also contain small traces or iron oxide or nickel, some substances maybe harmful to a fetus.
-
Yes but we do not use any numbing agent before or during Microblading.
-
It really depends on your immune system. We prefer you to consult your doctor and get his/her permission before Microblading.
-
While some celebrities may not have admitted it, we have our suspicions. The ones that have came forward are, Iggy Azalea, Gigi Gorgeous, Bella Thorne, Anna Valencia, Huda Kattan, Sonequa Martin-Green, Kathy Griffin, Tiffany Alford, Camryn, Grimes, Lena Dunham, Lindsay Godfrey, Jessica White, Anna Akana, Christian Serratos, Gwyneth Paltrow, Adele, Mila Kunis, Lorde and Mandy Moore.

When choosing A Microblading training Program, its important to know how long the artist has been practicing their technique. You need to be taught by someone who has personally worked on clients of every ethnicity, skin type etc. At Blink Beauty Bars training program, Ashley has taken everything she has personally learned in her years of training and ads it into the course. Her course is designed so that you don’t have to have that trial and error period a lot of Microblading artist have for over a year before getting it right. She’s not going to show you 20 different blades and try to sell them to you afterwards, she’s going to show you the only 3 blades you need, the only 5 pigments you need that you can mix to create 20 more. Most training programs ae designed to make you think you need so many different blades, pigments and tools so that you make unnecessary purchases on their website.

Laws very from county to county, sometimes State to State. Some states or counties aren’t regulated at all. Microblading in most states is recognized as a tattoo. So most of the time you only have to obtain a tattoo license in your county which is usually just a form and a small fee.
-
No you do not but certain counties do require you to have a tattoo license, which usually is just a form and small fee unless you are in NYC at which point you will have to take a blood borne pathogens test.
