Have Old Microblading or Previous Permanent Brows?
You’re definitely not the only one.
As permanent makeup has grown in popularity, more clients come to Blink with previous microblading, faded pigment or existing permanent brow work.
But working over previous pigment isn’t the same as working on untouched skin.
Can You Microblade Over Old Microblading?
Sometimes—but not always. Before adding new pigment, the existing work needs to be considered.
Important factors include:
• How saturated the old pigment remains
• Existing brow shape
• Pigment color
• Placement
• Skin characteristics
• Scar tissue
• The result you’re hoping to achieve
If too much pigment remains, simply adding more isn’t necessarily the appropriate solution.
Faded Doesn’t Always Mean Gone
Permanent makeup can look faint at the surface while pigment remains in the skin. That’s why we want to see previous work before determining whether new brow work is appropriate.
Can Blink Fix Bad Microblading?
Every situation is different.
We don’t promise that every previous brow can simply be “fixed” with another treatment. Depending on the existing pigment and shape, options can vary. In some circumstances, additional permanent makeup may not be recommended until previous pigment has faded further or been evaluated for removal. Our priority is making an appropriate decision rather than simply adding more pigment.
Before Booking
If you have previous permanent makeup from another artist, please send us clear photos of your brows without makeup before scheduling a new treatment.
